The other end of the East London Line - New Cross Gate is one of two termini. On the other side of the platform is the line to Croydon and Brighton.
Through the archway can be seen a Connex EMU. Part of the southern extensions to the ELL will involve restoring the connection between that track and this platform, so that trains can run through to West Croydon and Crystal Palace. The slow lines (and two of the platforms at New Cross Gate) will be shared between ELL and Connex services.
