Monument and Bank

Despite the title of this card, Bank and Monument have always been shown as separate names on the Underground map. Today they appear as a single station with two names, but in 1936 they would have been shown independently with "escalator connection" joining them. Meanwhile, the signs on the platforms of the Circle and District Lines read Monument for Bank.

The escalator connection was always reasonable for getting between the Northern Line and the District, but the Central Line was a much longer walk from the latter. This is reflected in the suggested journeys, which are all between Northern Line and District Line stations.
