This station was renamed Brent Cross, after the nearby shopping centre, on 20th July 1976.
In the 1930s there were a number of non-stop or limited-stop services running on the Northern Line, and Brent was fitted with loop tracks so that a fast train could overtake another sitting in the platforms.
