Postcode areas ============== There are 121 postcode areas in the UK, identified by one or two letters, plus three for the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. The following list shows them in order of code. The first group is of the form: or where the area is as above and the number is from 0 to 99 (but no area uses both 0 and 10). The second group is always: with only 20 different letters being used. There is one exception, a special code for the Post Office Girobank in Lytham St. Annes: "GIR 0AA" (note the I, rather than a 1). In addition, there are a number of imaginary codes: FairfaX is used by the Royal Mail for training purposes. AMbridge comes, of course, from The Archers and "SAN TA1" is used for you-know-who.
